Solon Sportsmen's Association

Since we are a private club, Membership is required. Dues are $240.19 ($225.00 plus $15.19 tax - less than $21.00 per month), and a one-time Initiation Fee of $100.00 (no tax), plus 8 hours work time per year. Members participating in scheduled work parties at the Club will be credited for their work party time. Should you fail to complete your required 8 hours work, a work party assessment of $25.00 per every hour less than 8, but not more than $200.00 will be added to your dues. Work time will not be honored unless it is approved by a committee chairman or the person running the work party. There is a Work Party Exemption should you be 70 yrs. of age or older.

Dues are not pro-rated, except for new members joining in October, November, or December. Their dues shall be valid for the remaining months of the year joined plus the following year.

Also required is a valid membership in the NRA (NRA membership must remain current during your membership in the club as noted in our club rules and by-laws). When you join or renew through the club you get a discount, and the club makes $5.00.

We are affiliated with the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) and the A.C.W.C.L. (Ashtabula County Wildlife Conservation League). This gives SSA more political influence, both at the local and state level. Plus, it gives our hunters more land to hunt on in Ashtabula Co.

Prospective new members shall introduce themselves at their first meeting and pay their fees/dues, and will be on probation for a period of one year. Should you decide to join, bring the completed application, liability form, club rules, driver’s license, and current NRA membership information to our next meeting, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:15pm.
